"Support was honestly frustrating"
I really wanted this to be a simple fix, but wow, dealing with support was rough. I’d send a message, then just sit there thinking, okay… maybe they’ll get back to me soon? But it took forever. And when they finally replied, it felt like they’d just copied and pasted some generic answer that didn’t really address what I was asking. I kept trying to explain the issue in different ways, like maybe I wasn’t being clear enough, but nope, we just kept going in circles. Super frustrating experience overall.

"Tax return took longer than expected and had issues"
I used 1-800Accountant for my taxes this year, it was a frustrating experience. I’m not a tax expert or anything, but I could tell some numbers were in the wrong places and a few deductions seemed to be missing. I had to bring up a couple of basic things more than once, which didn’t exactly make me feel great about it.

It kind of felt like the work was being rushed and not really double-checked. In the end, I paid someone local to look everything over before I filed, just to be safe. Maybe it works fine for some people, but for me, it wasn’t really worth the stress.

Not gonna lie, I was hoping for more useful guidance. I asked some basic tax questions and the answers I got felt vague and didn’t line up with what my local CPA told me later. It kind of seemed like they were just reading from notes instead of actually understanding my business.

They did help me out in the end, but some of the emails were a bit confusing. Not sure how to explain it, but I felt like I had to ask the same thing twice just to get a clear answer. It wasn’t a bad experience, just wish the communication had been more direct.

Payroll was hit or miss for us. It was late twice, which caused a lot of unnecessary stress, and I got tired of having to explain the same issue over and over like it wasn’t already clear. Not a great experience...

I signed up thinking I’d have one dedicated accountant who actually knew my situation, but that’s not what happened. I kept getting different people, and every time it felt like I had to explain the same things all over again. Same questions, same details, same backstory, over and over. It got really annoying fast. I just wanted someone consistent, but instead it felt like I was constantly starting from scratch. Frustrating and not worth it

"Onboarding was fine, just a bit more drawn out than I expected"
Signing up wasn’t hard, and overall the onboarding was okay. I did notice I had to enter a couple of the same details more than once, which kind of stuck out to me — especially because one field was worded slightly differently the second time. I also ended up waiting longer than I thought I would for the next steps, so it felt a little slow. That said, the person I spoke with was genuinely nice and helpful. Not a bad experience, just not quite as smooth as I was hoping...

"Expected more proactive guidance"
I signed up thinking they’d help keep me ahead of tax deadlines and flag things I might miss, but that wasn’t really my experience. I felt like I was the one following up most of the time, and the answers I did get were basic for the price. My read on it is that they may be fine if you just need simple support, but I was looking for more hands-on guidance. I ended up disappointed and wouldn’t use them again.

I didn’t have a great experience with 1800accountant. The communication was slow, and I felt like I had to keep chasing them down just to get basic answers. For what they charge, I expected the process to be a lot smoother and more helpful. I can see other customers getting frustrated too if they’re expecting quick support or clear guidance. In the end, it just added more stress than it solved, and I wouldn’t use them again

"Pricing seemed fine at first, then changed later"
When I first checked it out, the pricing looked reasonable. But after a couple of calls over the next few days, extra fees started coming up that I hadn’t seen mentioned before. By that point, I’d already spent time going back and forth with them, so it was frustrating. I just wish everything had been laid out clearly from the start.

"Reports were hard to follow, at least from my experience"
I might not have the full picture here, but the financial reports I received were confusing to me and didn’t really seem like they’d been reviewed that carefully. I had to ask some basic questions more than once, and even then the answers didn’t clear things up much. For the price, I was expecting something cleaner and more detailed. Maybe it works better for other people, but for me it was disappointing.

"The portal just feels off"
I don’t know, something about the portal just feels off. It’s slow, kind of confusing, and I found myself clicking around way too much just to get to basic documents. A few pages didn’t load properly either, and the whole layout feels a bit messy.
Uploading files was probably the most annoying part because I couldn’t really tell if anything actually went through. For a service that depends on a lot of back and forth, the website should be much easier to use. Overall, not a great experience

I used 1800accountant for a few months, and the actual service was fine enough, but the billing started getting on my nerves. More than once, I was charged an amount I wasn’t expecting, and then I had to chase someone down by email just to understand what was going on.
To be fair, they did respond eventually, but it took longer than it should have, and I don’t have a ton of patience for confusing invoices. It wasn’t a complete disaster, but it was frustrating enough that I don’t really trust the billing anymore.

"Good service, but tough to get ahold of"
They did get my taxes finished, so I’ll give them that. But wow, trying to reach someone during tax season was a bit of a headache. I’d call and not get through, then send an email, then forget I sent the email, then a few days later I’d be following up again. When I finally got someone, they were helpful and seemed to know what they were doing. It’s just March and April are already stressful enough, and having to chase people down made it more annoying. Overall, the actual tax help was fine, I just wish they were easier to reach when things get busy.

"Missed my deadline again"
I was really hoping things would be done on time, but they missed the deadline again. I can't say I wasn't frustrated, because I definitely was. This isn't no small issue when you're counting on something to be finished by a certain date.
